Ideally situated in the heart of the Fens in the Blue Ardennes, at the very beginning of the Ardennes, the town of Spa has given its name to all the spas in the world.
It has been welcoming visitors since Roman times. In the 18th century, the thermal springs even became a royal “place to be”: Tsar Peter I stayed in Spa in 1717 while Queen Marie-Henriette also took refuge in the city, where she spent the last years of her life.
Since July 2021, Spa has been recognised as a World Heritage Site alongside 10 other major European thermal towns. While the city is strongly associated with thermal baths, Spa is also a remarkably well-preserved natural environment, an unmissable gastronomic stopover, a trendy shopping destination, and the host of a world-famous Francorchamps circuit and renowned festivals.
In Spa, as in most major thermal towns, parks, theatres, concert halls and reception rooms have been created for spa-goers. Our event takes place in this exceptional heritage setting.
