Jeanne Dandoy

This is the tale of a feminicide averted. This is the hope of a monumental triumph.

The show

A woman carries out a series of household chores with a sense of urgency. Is she under surveillance? In the adjacent room, the unseen presence of an irritated man is felt. A baby’s sleep is monitored through a baby monitor. They must escape from the looming threat of violence from the man whose presence haunts the house…

Merveille is a tense, wordless performance set behind closed doors, a poetic and choreographic thriller portraying an actress-dancer’s journey to escape the toxicity of her home for a gentle, luminous realm brimming with hope. Will she succeed?

Jeanne Dandoy, hailing from Namur and based in Brussels, is a versatile artist, encompassing roles as a film and theatre actress, writer, and director. She also imparts her knowledge of drama as a teacher at ESACT in Liège. Her notable works include the productions Sweet and Game Over, along with appearances in films such as Rundskop and television series like Ennemi public.

In the press

The odyssey of a heroic emancipation in the face of domestic violence. ‘Merveille’ leads us on a poignant sensory voyage, blurring the lines between magic and reality.
